The Process
Life is a process, if we're not where we want to be, let's take steps to get there.
It’s better to have a thousand baby steps and know that no matter the circumstances you’ll keep your stride. You are conditioned, prepared, adaptable, growing as time goes by.
Much rather than one big step where you get comfortable and when the time comes to take another step it’s almost benign to have to then take small steps following such a big leap.
But that’s the beauty In it, the small steps add up and at times surpasses the very same singular big step. Let's start making small changes by not shying away from the small things we can do starting with ourselves and take the small steps anyway.
Leave what's behind in the past. Don't forget about yourself and your own needs. Think of the positive changes you've already made, or that you can make, in your life.
Try to add a few more positive changes each year while keeping the ones that feel good. Embrace change by learning how to deal with it as it comes up, instead of fighting against it.
Takeaway: Don't settle, welcome life's challenges and see them as a stepping stone to a new chapter. Every day is a fresh opportunity to make a positive change for yourself and those around you.
Be open to change. Be honest with the changes you notice in yourself.
Acknowledge your emotions and meaningfully respond in healthy ways. Connect with others to make this experience easier and more meaningful.
Reconnect with friends who can help you heal. Return to therapy as needed, if needed.
Manage your expectations, understand that everyone's experience is unique and has value. Give yourself permission to feel the emotions you need to feel. Understand that you are not alone.
Take quality time for you, and not just for others. Self compassion is a quality that can save you from the path of self-destruction.
Most changes are good, but there is no one way to change. The only constant is change; it's how we act on it that matters.
Takeaway: The process of growth and healing is important, but so are the things you do along the way in order to make it work for you. You are not alone or crazy, and you will do well no matter what you're going through right now.
Start trusting the process. Don't hide it; let people know. Mental health is important to finding happiness.
You can't be happy if you don't have the right tools. If your mind is unhealthy, you can't be healthy in other areas of your life. Be as honest as possible with yourself and others.
When life gets really challenging, know that it's a natural part of the process.
Love yourself enough to let go of your fears, both big and small.
Talk about how you're feeling with a trusted friend or family member. Talk honestly, and with compassion, with your therapist or counselor. Get support from friends and family.
Being creative isn't just for artists.
Insecure people often don't know how to accept that they're not perfect. Questioning your thoughts and beliefs is the first step towards realizing your truth.
Ask yourself, 'What would I say if this were someone else?'
If you can't talk to people directly, find a way to reach out through writing or art. Write down your thoughts on paper; put them in a jar and keep your thoughts safe.
Takeaway: People will respond to you differently when they know you are willing to listen and learn. Talking about mental health and community building are important for our health, happiness and well being, but we must be careful of how we talk about these topics. Trusting the process is a step towards growth.
We're all singular seeds with the world of potential. We all want to be a tree and bare fruit and nice flowers. But it starts with getting messy.
We’ve got to set our foundations, we’ve got to grow our roots. We've got to first endure all the dirt and storms and rainy days so when the sun shines on us we can grow and flourish and create life around ourselves.
We have to trust the process, we have to trust our journeys. Most importantly of all we have to trust in ourselves.
